[Guide] How to Install TWRP Recovery on Samsung Galaxy A04e (SM-A042F / SM-A042M / a04e)​

Prerequisites & Critical Warnings​

• MediaTek Bootloader Architecture: The Galaxy A04e runs on a MediaTek SoC (<span>MT6765</span>), utilizing dynamic partitions (<span>super</span>) and Android Verified Boot (AVB 2.0). Flashing custom recovery requires both an unlocked bootloader and a disabled vbmeta image.
• Knox Warranty Void: Flashing custom binaries permanently trips the hardware eFuse (0x1), disabling hardware-backed security features.
• Data Loss: Unlocking the bootloader and the mandatory Format Data procedure to clear File-Based Encryption (FBE) will completely erase all internal storage. Back up all essential data before proceeding.

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions (Nasıl Yüklenir?)​

Step 1: Unlock Bootloader​

1. Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information and tap Build Number 7 times to enable Developer Options.
2. Return to Settings > Developer Options and enable both OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging.
3. Turn off the phone completely.
4. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down simultaneously, then connect the phone to your PC via a USB-C cable.
5. On the warning screen, long-press Volume Up to access Device Unlock Mode. Confirm the unlock (this wipes all user data and automatically restarts the phone).
6. Complete basic initial setup, connect to Wi-Fi, and check Developer Options to verify that OEM Unlock is greyed out and states "Bootloader already unlocked."

Step 2: Boot into Samsung Download Mode​

1. Power off the phone completely.
2. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down together while reconnecting the USB-C cable to your PC.
3. Press Volume Up once briefly to enter Download Mode (Odin Mode).

Step 3: Flash TWRP & Patched VBMeta via Odin​

1. Launch Odin3 as Administrator on your PC. The ID:COM box will illuminate in light blue.
2. In the USERDATA slot, select vbmeta_disabled.tar.
3. In the AP slot, select your twrp.tar file.
4. Go to the Options tab in Odin:
   
   • Keep F. Reset Time checked.
   • Uncheck Auto Reboot (Crucial: Prevents One UI from rebooting normally and replacing TWRP with the stock recovery on the first boot).
5. Click Start to flash and wait for Odin to display the green PASS! status.

Step 4: First Boot into TWRP Recovery & Disable Encryption​

1. Keep the phone connected to the PC via the USB-C cable (One UI requires an active USB data connection handshake to trigger recovery mode).
2. Force restart the device by pressing and holding Volume Down + Side/Power.
3. The exact instant the screen goes completely dark, release Volume Down and immediately press and hold Volume Up + Side/Power.
4. Release the buttons once the TWRP splash screen appears.
5. Inside TWRP:
   
   • Swipe to allow system modifications.
   • Navigate to Wipe > Format Data, type yes, and confirm (removes dynamic file-based encryption/FBE).
   • Go to Reboot > Recovery to remount partitions cleanly.
   • Flash Magisk.zip or the multidisabler zip via Install to maintain root privileges and prevent the kernel from restoring stock recovery on boot.
6. Select Reboot > System.
