What is a Xiaomi Test Point and what is it used for? How is it done?


A Xiaomi test point is a pair of hardware contact points on the phone’s motherboard. It is mainly used to force the device into EDL mode (Emergency Download Mode) when normal methods do not work.



The test point method is usually used when:


  • The phone is hard bricked (won’t turn on or boot)
  • The bootloader is locked and fastboot/ADB cannot...
